We are always striving to walk more gently on this planet. For us that means, choosing renewable resources, recycling more and wasting less. It’s a big deal to us here at Fresh Organics and you can read on our list of Green Practices. As a small company, it’s easier for us than for larger companies, to implement policy change. Often it’s as simple as encouraging team members to pack lunch and use company provided kitchen facilities. This cuts down on Styrofoam take out and plastic utensils for meals and also builds friendships as lunches tend to morph into pot lucks and everyone pitches in to clean up. We have pure filtered hot and cold water available both in the office and factory so workers can stay hydrated without relying on the ubiquitous plastic bottled water. These are little things but it’s a great feeling to be able to manage our entire operation with an amazingly small amount of trash. In some cases, going green costs more, but in many instances it’s a big savings. With our large dual pane windows and new skylights, we rarely need to turn on the electric lights at all. All in all, it’s part of our business to keep looking for green solutions.
